About Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council (LSSSDC)
“Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council” is a Vocational Education Awarding Body, an approved & recognized by National Council of Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) (National Regulatory for Vocational Education in India), and working under aegis of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) for the Skill development initiatives in Life Sciences Sector. As a Sector Skill Council, set up by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) along with Industry Representatives, LSSSDC is mandated to establish a sustainable vocational education ecosystem for Life Sciences Sector, which includes Pharmaceutical (including AYUSH, Cosmetics, Vet-Drugs, Nutraceutical and CRAMS), Biotechnology (including Biologics, Agri Biotech and Allied Biotech), Medical Device (inclusive of Implants, Diagnostic Imaging & In-Vitro Diagnostics) and Research & Development Services (inclusive of CRO, CRAM, SMOs) Industry across the country
About National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET)
The National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) was established as a regulatory body by the Government of India through Gazette Notification No. SD-17/113/2017-E&PW dated 5th December 2018. It has been fully operational since 1st August 2020. The NCVET serves as an overarching national regulator with the aim of setting standards, developing comprehensive regulations, and improving the vocational education, training, and skilling ecosystem. The primary objective of NCVET is to ensure strong industry interfacing and implement effective regulations that enhance the quality and outcomes of vocational education and training. It is responsible for the development, qualitative improvement, and regulation of vocational education and training systems. Additionally, NCVET grants recognition to and monitors the functioning of awarding bodies, assessment agencies, and skill information providers. It also performs other incidental functions as specified in its resolution.
NCVET’s mission is to integrate the fragmented regulatory system and infuse quality assurance across the entire vocational education, training, and skilling value chain. By doing so, it aims to facilitate the availability of highly skilled manpower, improving employability and contributing to the accelerated growth of the Indian economy.
